Nashville tornadoes 2020

Last night was surreal. When I moved to Nashville from South Florida, I joked about how I traded hurricanes for tornadoes. Now that I have experienced both major events close-up, I can say without question- they both equally fucking suck. Thank you so much to those who have texted or called. I’m grateful to be ok and thankful there was no major damage to the home where I live. The families just 5 doors down from mine? Not so lucky. The home in this picture was standing not even 24 hours ago. It’s been reduced to nothing. The rest of the homes on my block beyond it are shattered. Just one little street in one little neighborhood. By now you’ve probably seen how much devastation has taken place throughout this magical city. Imagine all the lives that have been turned upside down in just a matter of minutes and the magnitude of help that will be needed to rebuild. The stories are heartbreaking.
